|Regulation and Function of the Tumor Suppressor PTEN: Xuejun Jiang, PhD|
|Xuejun Jiang, PhD, Professor of Cell Biology, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center, Cornell University & Weill Medical College will be presenting the
Cancer Biology Seminar on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the
Rieveschl Auditorium of the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies. Dr. Jiang's
research focuses on programmed cell death, a cellular process functioning to
maintain tissue homeostasis and eliminate damaged or unwanted cells in
multicellular organism. Malfunction of programmed cell death can lead to
diseases such as cancer, immune disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
His lab also seeks to translate their basic research findings into novel
cancer therapies. Dr. Jiang's seminar is titled "Regulation and Function of
the Tumor Suppressor PTEN".
