argeting Nutrient Uptake and Autophagy to Starve Cancer Cells to Death; Dr. Aimee Edinger from UC Irvine | |
Aimee Edinger, VMD, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Developmental & Cell Biology,
School of Biological Sciences at the University of California - Irvine will be presenting the Cancer Biology Seminar on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Rieveschl Auditorium of the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies. Dr. Edinger's laboratory is taking a unique approach to fighting cancer by developing therapies that selectively starve cancer cells to death by down- regulating nutrient transporter proteins. Their immediate goal is to uncover the pathways that coordinately regulate mammalian nutrient transporter internalization and trafficking. The title of Dr. Edinger's seminar is "Targeting Nutrient Uptake and Autophagy to Starve Cancer Cells to Death". |
